AGM 2016: a strong turnout and new bye-laws debated

The Annual General Meeting was very well attended on 22 January. The proposed new bye-laws were read out, debated, and generally accepted by the members. For the first time there will be no confusion regarding trolling or bag limits, and the aim of the new bye-law is to set in stone the rules and regulations pertaining to Lough Sheelin.

A special word of thanks must go to Oisin Naughton, Chief Inspector with Inland Fisheries Ireland, for accepting the invitation to attend. Oisin gave a summary of IFI’s standing on the proposed bye-laws and took questions from members.

Members again voted to keep the annual subscription to the Lough Sheelin Trout Protection Association at €30.

It is not okay for anglers to sit on the fence supporting nothing but reaping the rewards from the hard work and subscriptions every other member has made. Please ask others to join the LSTPA. We are going to have to invest more and more money into the lake because government grants and funds are being squeezed all the time.
