Changes to the bye-laws: members please review
Would all members please take a moment to review the changes to the current bye-laws relating to Sheelin. The Conservation of Trout (No. 8 or Limerick District) Bye-law No. 949 of 2017 introduces measures relating to fishing on Lough Sheelin, including a minimum trout size of 30cm, a weekly bag limit, and restrictions on trolling at various times during the season.
The bye-law also prohibits the use or possession of any insect larvae, pupae, maggots, chandlers, casters or ground bait on or near the waters, and prohibits an angler from using more than one rod at a time.
The full document is available on the DCCAE website and can be downloaded directly from our site. Members are asked to review it in full before fishing under the new rules.
