Youth Day & BBQ at Kilnahard

Over 18 children took part, with a strong mix of new faces and returning regulars. John Lovett from Bird Watch Ireland gave the kids a talk on the birds in and around Lough Sheelin. Club member John Murphy shared his knowledge of the flora and fauna, and Dermot Broughan from IFI brought an aquarium to give the children a special glimpse of life under the water.

Club member John Mulvaney ran a fly tying demonstration, followed by fly casting lessons from club members. The day finished with the children out on the water, and a BBQ afterwards thanks to Orla Fitzsimmons, Mary and Colm Lynch, and Sheelin Meats.
